President's Message
Our recent meeting in Canberra hopefully heralded the end of EI with an announcement last week that we would hopefully go Green in Qld and NSW by the end of March. The most important decision made at the meeting was that of a Futurity date and location for this most unprecedented EI ravaged season. This was a difficult decision and it was important to the board that trainers be given as much time as possible with futurity horses and that we put the show at a date to fit in Tamworth’s new facility and far enough out of reach of possible EI restrictions.
We are therefore excited to announce 8th to 12th October at the new Tamworth Australian Equine and Livestock Events centre.

Volunteer Profile
After dabbling in dressage, showing and a bit of campdrafting, I was drawn to the precision and excitement of reining; the great people and horses, along with the appeal of having my working horses soft and willingly
guided using reining principles. Thanks to the advice and guidance of guys like Rob Lawson, Glen Wyse and Warren Backhouse, my interest in reining has turned into an addiction and I somehow found myself sucked into the job of volunteer media person
for Reining Australia. In 2004, Keith and I traveled to Italy to watch Rob Lawson and Martin Larcombe both compete in the finals of the Italian futurity; with Martin ultimately winning the event on the legendary Arc Oak Enterprise.
