Freckles Gay Doc was shown as an open and non pro reining horse between 1999 to 2003 and was one of the most consistent reining horses throughout this period.

As a 3 year old Gay Doc won the 1999 NRHA Open in his futurity year marking a double 76 with Ian Francis after being disqualified from the futurity with a twisted curb chain.

These achievements earned him a Platinum Award making him at the time, the third horse in the history of Reining to win over $20,000, and the highest money earning reining stallion in Australia for the next 3 years. 

Freckles Gay Doc was retired in 2003.

 

Aged 24 Gay doc has sired over 50 registered progeny with horses like Lilmissnoitall and Crocodile Roc having similar traits in the reining pen and RA money earners.
